Alley proprietors certainly had a vested interest in offering prizes to high scorers. The pursuit of a 250 Club sign or a 500 Club patch could keep bowlers coming back for another series. To gain admittance to the 500 Club, an individual bowler scored between 500 and 599 in a three-game series. It is unclear which Country Club Lanes gave out this particular patch, as there are several bowling centers by that name in the United States. What is sure, however, is that the recipient would have been thrilled to join the well-scored ranks!
