ARMY HOSPITAL MODIFICATIONS

At the Percy Jones Army Hospital in Battle Creek, Michigan, physicians and military leaders made bowling an important part of wounded veterans’ recoveries. The hospital outfitted its reconditioning center lanes with modifications for amputee bowlers. The nation’s top bowlers and bowling governance groups pledged to support the efforts. Modifications included adding wheelchair accessibility and supplying bowling balls with grips for prosthetic hooks.
