BREWING SUCCESS IN CHICAGO
Date: 1960s
This Peter Hand’s Reserve Beer bowling team featured (front row, left to right) Harry Lippe, Paul Krunske, Ed Kawloics and (back row, left to right) Chuck Hamilton, Carmen Salvino and Earl Johnson. Notably, Lippe, Salvino and Johnson are enshrined in the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Hall of Fame, honoring their significant contributions to the sport. Established in Chicago in 1891 by Prussian immigrant Peter Hand, the brewery gained prominence with its flagship beer, Meister Brau. Peter Hand’s Reserve Beer was introduced in the 1950s, just before this all-star team hit the lanes.
