Energetic Canadians left a mark on the 9th annual American Bowling Congress tournament in 1909 in Pittsburgh. “The Canucks are going crazy about this tournament. I never saw so much enthusiasm in my life,” said one American bowling official. A Canadian delegation, accompanied by a brass band “and other stirring features,” took a special train to Pittsburgh, where they competed in international events that were held after the main tournament.
