THE BUSINESS OF BOWLING
Date: undated
Given the competitive nature of business, proprietors were likely inundated with gifts from potential vendors as they courted clients around the country. Should they select a vendor, these gifts would provide valuable advertising for the company and the alley. As an example, cigarette manufacturer Winston Salem likely gifted these branded cuff links and tie clips as bowling center owners considered which cigarettes they’d sell at their establishments.
