Herb Freitag of the Chicago Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer men’s team and Mary Jane Hubert of the women’s team engaged with a WCFL radio reporter in Chicago. Both Freitag and Hubert were prominent figures in the 1940s bowling scene, with Freitag winning the 1940 doubles title at the ABC Tournament in Detroit.
