The Olympic Bowling Competition took place during the 1988 Summer Games in Seoul, South Korea. Although it was just a demonstration sport, bowling earned praise from the international bowling community. This plaque was given to Gerald Koenig, who spent years traveling the world promoting bowling and encouraging its inclusion in the Olympics. Getting bowling to the Seoul Summer Olympics was the result of at least five years of negotiations and thousands of miles of travel!
