PIN-SETTING MACHINES IN CLEVELAND
Date: 1930
Upon arrival, members of the Milwaukee delegation to the 1930 American Bowling Congress tournament would have found 32 brand-new alleys and hundreds of pin boys, foul men and scorers at the Public Hall Annex in Cleveland. For the first time in history, the ABC tournament featured pin-setting machines to position the pins precisely in the correct spots. (No word on how the pin boys felt about it.)
