PINS, PRIDE & PABST
Date: ca. 1940s
The Pabst Blue Ribbon women’s bowling team of the 1940s represented the thriving culture of league bowling, supported by iconic brands like PBR. First brewed in Milwaukee in 1844, Pabst earned its “Blue Ribbon” distinction after winning the top prize at the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago. By the mid-20th century, PBR was a household name, and teams like this one helped to solidify PBR’s role in helping to foster American traditions.
