WENE AND SMITH FOR THE WIN

Sylvia Wene and Harry “Tiger” Smith claimed national match-game titles in the women’s and men’s divisions at the 1960 BPAA All-Star Tournament in Omaha, Nebraska. Smith scored an impressive 13,599 points over 312-24 games, while Wene achieved 6,214 points in half the games, totaling 144-14 points. Their exceptional careers included well-deserved inductions into the Women’s International Bowling Congress Hall of Fame and the United States Bowling Congress Hall of Fame for Wene in 1966, and Smith’s induction into the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Hall of Fame in 1975.
