A CLASS ACT
Date: 1954
With this kind of advertising, who wouldn’t want to take part in bowling training with world champion Marion Ladewig? The reigning “Bowling Queen” put on exhibitions and instruction for boys and girls at Baird Recreation Lanes in Kansas City, Kansas, during the summer of 1954. Well-known for her travelling instructional sessions, Ladewig gave advice on proper shoes, the correct weight for bowling balls, approach, timing and positioning. The Kansas City Star noted that Ladewig was one of the top bowlers in the sport and that “there probably are few men who can defeat her and hardly any who will guarantee a triumph for himself.”
