VARIPAPA LEADING THE WAY
Date: 1958
Andy Varipapa was a trailblazing figure in the early days of professional bowling in the United States. Commencing his career in the 1920s, Varipapa swiftly gained renown not only for his exceptional professional bowling skills but also for his mastery of trick shots. His remarkable achievement of clinching back-to-back victories in the BPAA All-Star competition marked a historic milestone in the sport. In 1957, a year prior to this photo, Varipapa earned a well-deserved induction into the United States Bowling Congress Hall of Fame. Throughout his life, he served as a splendid ambassador for the sport and maintained his passion for bowling.
