From political parties to bowling parties, this group enjoyed their visit at the Executive Office Building lanes in Washington, D.C. First Lady of the United States Lady Bird Johnson (left to right), Second Lady Muriel Humphrey and Jane Muskie enjoyed a friendly competition in the month before the 1968 presidential election, in which Hubert Humphrey and Edmund Muskie were Democratic running mates. When asked if she was trying to gain the sporting vote, Mrs. Humphrey replied, “You betcha — any and all.”
